Mike Gunderson's Bio

Mike Gunderson has served as Senior Minister with the Oak Park Christian Church in Grover Beach since January of 2008. He is a graduate of Puget Sound Christian College and Lincoln Christian Seminary, receiving a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) in New Testament from the latter.  While in graduate study at Lincoln, Mike was the teaching assistant of Dr. Robert Lowery, the beloved  academic dean of the seminary and professor of New Testament at Lincoln Christian University.  It was a sad day at LCU/LCS when Dr. Lowery died of cancer on Thursday, April 28, 2011.

He has been married to Juanita for almost 30 years and has two sons: Jared, a recent graduate of Westmont College, and Jordan, currently a sophomore at Westmont.

Mike did not grow up in a Christian home, but came to Christ as a junior high student. This led him to more than 15 years of serving as a youth minister.

His passion is preaching and teaching that lifts up Jesus but also brings the Word of God to life in such a way as to make a clear impact in daily living.

As a native of Washington state and lover of sports, Mike is a die-hard fan of the Seattle Seahawks, Seattle Mariners, and the Washington State Cougars.
